About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise-wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.  

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units:  Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations. 

The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups.  The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe.  Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role

The Senior Developer (MuleSoft) is responsible for designing and developing high quality integration solutions. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand their business needs and requirements and aligns these with the University’s direction. They will be part of the MuleSoft development and support team.

They will be responsible for all aspects of integration using the MuleSoft integration platform and related tools and technologies.

This position requires practical commercial experience in integration development on the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, along with carrying out technical leadership responsibilities in both project work and operational support.

They will come with excellent verbal and written communication skills to work well with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Integration Analysts, API Testers and business stakeholders.

About You

  • 4 years of commercial experience in the MuleSoft Any point Platform.

  • Ability to drive Integration design and develop APIs based on business requirements.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills along with the ability to react quickly to change in an agile environment.

  • Previous experience in a similar role, leading the design and requirements phase of the projects.

  • Strong Web Services development experience, a proven track record of developing public/enterprise APIs, strong SOA knowledge.

  • Strong experience in large scale integration projects; design, development, testing, and implementation

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise SQL databases: Oracle 11g, SQL Server 2012. (SQL, PL/SQL and TSQL).

  • Excellent debugging and diagnosis skills. Must be comfortable with testing, profiling, and debugging tools with good understanding of TCP/IP networks.

  • Experience with integration and system testing, e.g., JUnit, SoapUI.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodology.

  • Experience with academic/enterprise systems (e.g., Peoplesoft, SAP, Workday) is a plus

  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills, including high quality technical documentation are required to succeed in this position.

  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, work to deadlines under pressure and manage complex tasks using Agile delivery methodology.
