Machine Operators – Day Shift

The opportunity with us

Reporting to the Production Manager, as a Machine Operator( ability to flex between day and afternoon shift as per business requirements )  your focus will be on operating a range of fixed and mobile plant in a fast-paced environment to manufacture high-quality bricks.

Based at our PGH Bricks & Pavers Golden Grove site and being a critical member of the wider team, you will participate in process improvement activities and safety projects, you will have experience operating a forklift and be available to work across an afternoon shift roster as and when required.

To be successful in this role you must hold a current forklift licence, be engaging, have a great attitude, strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.

• Start times: 6am – 2pm,. + willingness to work additional hours as the business requires.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform quality Prestart checklists
• Operate various machines to exceed daily, weekly and monthly production targets
• Improve and maintain daily production levels
• Follow work instructions and procedures, specific checklist and accepted "best practices"
• Ensure the highest quality of standards and production
• Housekeeping and other duties as required
• Inspect bricks as they pass by the sorting station - Checking for squareness, colour, texture, chipping & cracking.

What you bring to the role:

• A great work ethic and strong commitment to safe work practices & high regard for safety
• Experience as an operator in a production line
• Physical fitness, as there is manual handling involved
• Have a high attention to detail
• Sound written, verbal communication skills + computer 
• Good mechanical minded and trouble shooting ability
• Ability to interact well with others and join the team
• A current forklift license with experience – ESSENTIAL
• The ability to multitask in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
