About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and positive Stores Technician to work at our Kwinana Pigment Plant Warehouse team. 

This position is a full time, approx. 4-month max term contract, possibility of extension based at our Kwinana Pigment Plant, approx. 35 minutes south of Perth where there is free parking available. We also work a compressed 9-day fortnight, enjoy every second Friday off 

Reporting to the Stores Coordinator, this position contributes to the day to day running of our site operations. While previous stores/warehouse experience is desired, behaviours that are strongly aligned with our Core Values, together with a willingness to continually learn and develop, are the key attributes you will possess.  It’s equally important that you work well in a team environment and can establish strong, mutually beneficial working relationships at all levels of the organisation.

Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • Safely and efficiently, perform stores activities (daily stores issues, receivables and binning functions) in accordance with company policies, procedures and work instructions;
  • Carry out spot and cyclic stock takes in accordance with procedures;
  • Manage and administer warehouse and transport responsibilities relating to inventory / non-inventory and rotable items;
  • Ensure inventory procedures and practices are followed;
  • Off load weekly freight truck and pack away items;
  • Loading and despatch of goods, including samples:
  • Prepare Shutdown staging for parts and components; 
  • Follow up with end users to collect items from the Stores;
  • Maintain relevant transactional activities and reports using Ellipse; 
  • Undertake and successfully complete training and development activities. Provide on-the-job training for other personnel as required:
  • Participate in team projects. Identify and share continuous improvement ideas that may enhance process, safety and cost reduction:
  • Perform other duties as required; and
  • Maintain a clean, safe working environment through regular housekeeping.

To be successful in your application, you will ideally possess: 

  • 2-5 years previous warehouse experience (desired, but not essential);
  • Current C Class Drivers’ Licence unrestricted (essential)
  • High Risk Licence for forklift operation (essential);
  • Provides high level of customer service;
  • Highly motivated and promotes a safe and inclusive work environment;
  • Ellipse warehousing module experience (desired);
  • Ability to work rapidly changing environment;
  • Ability to work autonomously;
  • Inventory control will be highly regarded;
  • Previous purchasing experience highly regarded; and
  • Experience in logistical and material ordering requirements for peak periods such as shutdowns and emergency breakdowns will be highly regarded.
