ACAP is seeking a number of dedicated sessional Mentors/Tutors/Lecturers for the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice who are passionate about their field and excited to teach the next generation of professionals.

Opportunities are available online and at our Melbourne Campus.

We are seeking online legal practice educators to progress manage/feedback/teach/mark and assess at entry level lawyer level in Practical Legal Training (PLT) as a generalist across the following areas (acknowledging we all have strengths and weaknesses across legal practice areas):

  • Lawyer’s Skills and Values
  • Civil Litigation Practice
  • Property Law Practice
  • Commercial and Corporate Practice
  • Administrative Law Practice
  • Banking and Finance
  • Consumer Law Practice
  • Criminal Law Practice
  • Employment Law Practice
  • Family Law Practice
  • Government Law Practice
  • Planning and Environmental Law Practice
  • Wills and Estates Practice

Sessional Tutoring involves:

  • Providing feedback to PLT students and progress managing them through simulated legal practice tasks
  • Marking assignments and performing administrative tasks associated with the course.
  • Teaching/tutoring online and/or Melbourne CBD campus
  • Full time or part time for a specific period.

The candidates we seek will ideally have:

  • Admission as an Australian Lawyer with experience as a legal practitioner
  • Experience working in a tertiary education institution, adult education and/or in legal practice supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with all levels of the College
  • Excellent scholarly expertise and/or industry expertise
  • Breadth of legal practice industry expertise

Essential qualifications for the candidates:

  • A Law Degree and GDLP (or equivalent) admitted to the legal profession as an Australian lawyer
  • Legal practice experience
  • Experience as an educator
  • Membership or eligibility for membership of the Law Institute of Victoria
