About Casey Adult Mental Health Service (CAMHS)

The Casey Adult Mental Health Service (Casey AMHS) provides individualised, consumer centred care for adults aged 18 – 65 years living in the City of Casey and the Shire of Cardinia, aiming to improve mental health and wellbeing, Casey AMHS comprises the entire spectrum of care with Emergency Psychiatric Services, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team, PACER, Hospital in the Home team, Inpatient Psychiatric Units (Ward D and E) based at Casey Hospital, CCT based at Pakenham and Cranbourne, Acute and Extended PARCS, State-wide Transition Support Unit and the Adult Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Initiative. Teams at the Casey AMHS are multidisciplinary in nature. The consultant psychiatrist will provide medical leadership at the team level and support & assist the Unit Head, Casey AMHS in the provision of high-quality psychiatry services, consistent with the Monash Health values.

About the Role

To support and assist the Unit Head, Casey AMHS, Mental Health Program, Monash Health in the provision of high-quality psychiatry services, consistent with Monash Health values.

  • Medical model of care at Monash Health is “consultant led”. Consultants are at the forefront of care provision and lead by example
  • Provide clinical leadership through active involvement in patient care
  • Be available to medical colleagues for consultation and liaison as appropriate regarding patient care
  • Be immediately available for urgent consultation and assistance in the management of clinically deteriorating patients
  • Support academic, research, education, training & supervision (both undergraduate and postgraduate) roles in the Casey Adult Mental Health Service
  • Support the Adult Psychiatry Unit’s outreach services within Monash Health
  • Contribute to the professional and corporate life of Monash Health by participation in appropriate committees and fora
  • Contribute to ongoing service improvement and clinical and workforce innovation to ensure Monash Health provides high quality accessible Psychiatry Services within allocated resources and meets the needs of Monash Health patients

What you need:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
  • Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent
  • Working with Children's Check
