Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking suitably skilled applicants to join our CSSD Team on a Full-time basis as a CSSD Supervisor.
About us
Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital.We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As CSSD Supervisor your responsibilities will include:
·Attend the operational management of the current CSSD Department within the Perioperative Services area
·Act as an advocate for our Quality Management System and promote a safe work environment
·Support your team to achieve a streamlined operational management
·Meet relevant standards and best practices consistent with the CSSD specialty area
Essential Criteria:
Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience working in a senior role within a CSSD Certificate III or IV in Sterilisation Sound knowledge of accreditation standards ACHS/AS/NZ 4187 Standards and HICMR Demonstrated ability to show leadership and the ability to work with a wide range of people in a team environment Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail Intermediate computer literacy skills - including MS office and various data bases An interest in promoting best practice patient care A focus on professional development
