The role

An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to join our Adbri Masonry team based in Cairns, Queensland.

As a team player and reliable forklift operator, you will provide support to production teams and yard/despatch functions. You will oversee the inbound and outbound movements of goods/materials from our production plant, maintain a neat and orderly inventory as well as stepping in to support production processes as required.

The role is a full time, day shift position with potential for flexibility and overtime, to support operational requirements, to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety, health and environment standards are maintained
  • Follow correct work procedures at all times
  • Check/inspect, document and unload inbound goods
  • Quality Assurance, preparation and packaging of outbound goods
  • Ensure yard and inventory is maintained neat and orderly
  • Ensure stocks are suitably stored and rotated
  • Communicate effectively between production and yard/despatch functions
  • General labouring and machine operating duties to support various production areas as required
  • Following established procedures for documenting and/or reporting work performed, hazards, incidents
  • Basic maintenance of forklifts, plant and equipment in the work area

What you will need to succeed

  • Self-motivation and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to communicate confidently with various staff
  • Ensure safety, health and environment standards are maintained
  • Load and unload trucks safely and accurately
  • Move palletised masonry products within the factory and yard
  • Complete basic documentation associated with the dispatch of orders
  • Make up orders using appropriate manual handling techniques
  • Undertake general housekeeping and cleaning
