We are looking for a Paralegal / Junior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team in Brisbane or Melbourne, on a part time (0.6 FTE) basis for a fixed term of 3 months.
Reporting to our Head of Legal, and working closely with our Legal Counsel, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of commercial legal work, to support your development and the continued growth of Nous and our Legal function.
The role:
- Reviewing client and supply chain contracts.
- Supporting the Legal team and business with legal research, queries and other ad hoc legal tasks.
- Assisting with the drafting of correspondence and standard form documents (as required).
- Drafting and reviewing Legal guidance notes, manuals and policies.
- Monitoring and triaging the Legal Counsel inbox, in conjunction with other members of the Legal team.
- Liaising with the business in person, over email, and on the phone (MS Teams).
- Providing administrative support to the Legal Team (as needed).

- Collaborator: You are able to work independently (with guidance and support) but also enjoy working collaboratively as part of a tight knit, Legal team.
- Enthusiastic: You bring energy, enthusiasm, and your whole self to work.
And the practical experience:
- Completed a tertiary degree or postgraduate qualification in law.
- At least 6 months’ legal experience working at a law firm or in-house legal department (which may include clerkships, internships or other legal work experience).
- Previous experience reviewing commercial contracts is highly desirable.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Aptitude for learning.
