Senior Full-Stack Web Developer

  • Permanent role - $150k + super
  • Sydney based – 3 days in the office per week
  • Work on a high-traffic page for a leading Financial Services client

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Web Developer to work for a leading financial services client based in Sydney. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented developer with strong expertise in Java, React, and NodeJS to work on high-traffic, mission-critical web applications in the financial services sector.

As a Senior Full-Stack Web Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, high-performance web applications. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create seamless user experiences and ensure the stability and reliability of our client’s digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of web applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and security.
  • Work on both the front-end (React/NodeJS) and back-end (Java) of high-traffic, customer-facing web applications.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability while ensuring smooth user experiences.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Integrate with third-party APIs and backend services, ensuring smooth data flow and functionality.
  • Conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and ensure high-quality code practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring application uptime and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack web development.
  • Strong proficiency in Java
  • Expertise in React and NodeJS building modern, responsive front-end applications.
  • Experience working on high-traffic, high-performance websites and understanding of web scalability and performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of web development best practices, including version control (Git), continuous integration, and testing frameworks.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in production environments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the financial services industry or similar regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with New Relic or Sumo Logic
