Catcom specializes in projects related to MIMA, FTTP, FTTC, FTTX, NBN, and I&M Copper maintenance, having delivered over 10,000 services. With many years of experience in NBN Civil work, Catcom prides itself on their qualified technicians and state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring premier service to our clients.

Position: Telecommunication Technologist

Qualifications:

  • AQF or equivalent Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Telecommunication or Computer Networking
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

Key Responsibilities:

·        Configure and integrate telecommunications technology with computer systems, including software, hardware, desktops, and operating systems.

·        Develop and maintain logs for parts, equipment, instruments, and their locations and status, ensuring thorough documentation of communication policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, and quality standards.

·        Provide technical advice and monitor the performance of complex telecommunications networks and equipment.

·        Plan and develop customer access telecommunications network infrastructure.

·        Liaise with vendors, suppliers, service providers, and external resources to ensure contractual obligations and performance delivery.

·        Offer ongoing operational support in network design, optimization, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, and performance issue resolution.

·        Conduct site surveys for cabling and telecommunications connectivity, proposing and enforcing cabling methods and routes for optical fiber networks.

·        Perform testing, provide dedicated network connections according to customer requirements, diagnose and rectify network faults, and carry out fiber splicing, testing, and commissioning.

Skills and Experience:

·        Proven experience in configuring and integrating telecommunication networks.

·        Strong ability to develop and maintain detailed logs and documentation.

·        Expertise in providing technical advice and monitoring network performance.

·        Experience in planning and developing telecommunications infrastructure.

·        Proficient in liaising with vendors and ensuring performance delivery.

·        Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving network performance malfunctions.

·        Experienced in both aerial and underground cabling installation for fiber and copper.

·        Proficient in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and micro-trenching for underground cabling.

·        Experience with fiber splicing, testing, and commissioning.
