About the Role

We have an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join the Finance team.  Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the operational accounts payable function across Cavpower.

Key responsibilities of the role include;

  • Oversee and coordinate all day to day aspects of Accounts Payable
  • Supervise, as well as provide training to Accounts Payable staff
  • Review current procedures; identify areas for improvements make recommendations to Financial Controller
  • Daily and periodical invoices
  • Purchase order and non-order invoices
  • Payment journals (Cat machines and FX payments)
  • Repetitive billing (expenses and utilities)
  • Employee reimbursements
  • Miscellaneous credit balances from accounts receivable
  • Individual Funds and Real Time payments using Commbiz
  • Bulk Fund payments using Commbiz
  • Foreign Currency payments using Commbiz
  • Ensure timely and efficient payment runs for EFT and cheques performed by Accounts Payable Clerks
  • Follow up unresolved invoice issues
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Communicate with suppliers in relation to account and invoice queries
  • Communicate with branch and department personnel relating to invoices queries
  • Analyse and implement process improvements
  • Create and update Accounts Payable procedure documentation
  • Assist in annual audit by attending to any accounts payable queries

Previous experience in a high volume Accounts Payable Supervisory role in a medium to large organization ($50m+ turnover).

Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal along with good organisational skills are key to the success of this role.

High attention to detail and intermediate level of MS Office Suite.

You must also have the ability to supervise and work in a small team environment.

Experience working with Excel, FX payment and Outlook is essential.
