The Role:
This role will see you be part of the Installed Systems team working across projects for sporting venues, theatres/performing arts centre’s, schools, public precincts/conference centres, corporate facilities, parliaments, TV studios and councils
You will work on multiple projects at a time usually consisting of 2-4 team members. Projects will be located throughout the Sydney Region and travel to and from project sites is required.
Your main duties will involve:
- Performing a variety of tasks within a single project including, but not limited to coordinating all resources and stakeholders, setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring quality and performance, summarising and communicating the progress and profitability of the project.
- Day to day management; Evaluating system and design systems; Preparing/supervising documentation and equipment for installation; Attending and/or supervising the onsite implementation of projects; Client liaison; Evaluations and reporting.
- Create project breakdown and analyse costs associated with each section of a project.
- Submit contract submissions
- Ensuring installation documents including site information, system block diagrams, equipment layout, cable schedules, rack layouts, metal/woodwork drawings are ready to give to the install team prior to commencement of installation.
- Creating detailed bill of materials, purchase requisitions and special requirement lists for action by various teams and departments.
- Develop labour plans for projects detailing what types of staff are required each day (riggers, fitters, welders, machinists, carpenters, electricians).
- Completing general administration tasks.
- Travelling to various sites and businesses undertaking tasks in line with a Project Manager’s role.
- Consulting with builders and/or customers regarding site requirements, work health and safety expectations, site inductions and site-specific queries.
Skills and Requirements:
To be successful in obtaining this role you will have the following:
- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Current Drivers licence
- Full Australian Working rights
- Construction White Card
- EWP Ticket is also advantageous
Your Experience will include:
- Tertiary qualification in project management and/or construction management with exposure to audio, network and electrical systems or similar.
- Minimum five (5) years proven project/contact management experience involving installation of audio visual, commercial drapes, heavy mechanical and electro-mechanical. (including onsite experience)
- Experience working in the installation and commissioning of audio visual, commercial drapes, heavy mechanical and electro-mechanical.
- Solid understanding of construction methodologies including cable installations and structural integrity of materials.
- The ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, design documentation and specifications with an attention to detail when preparing material lists and project plans.
- Commercial acumen together with a strong understanding and capacity to meet client requirements with diplomacy and sensitivity to solving complex problems.
- Proven practical experience with work health and safety principles and practices
- Proven experience in developing and implementing project plans, including the coordination and management of logistics, personnel, supplies and equipment.
- Ability to recognise areas for improvement, create clear plans, communicate the plans to senior management level and then successful implement.
- High-level organisational and administrative skills; the ability to prioritise, organise and coordinate a multiple of tasks against strict deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with a wide variety of clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication ability including the ability to prepare accurate and relevant written reports and business communications.
- High-level of PC literacy, including proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, Word and Outlook and understanding of CAD programs.
- Excellent costing/estimating base showing accurate margin delivery, coupled with solid commercial acumen with a strong financial focus.
- Outstanding leadership capabilities and proven strength in leading and coaching teams.
