About the Company:
Our client has a long standing history of producing some of Australia's most loved household desserts.
From frozen cheesecakes and pies, to crumbles and ice cream, they approach their craft by ensuring they stay true to traditional recipes, but also offering a contemporary twist.
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Materials Planner to join for a 3-month temporary role. As a Material Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing the flow of materials through the supply chain to ensure on-time delivery to our production facility. You will work closely with the production planner and procurement manager to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimising carrying costs. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail and the ability to manage and analyze large amounts of complex data to make sound inventory management decisions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Manage purchasing activities and minimum order quantity inputs for ingredients.
• Work with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve any delivery issues
• Manage safety stock policies to ensure that inventory levels are maintained at optimal levels, considering lead times, demand variability, and supplier performance
• Actively manage the material planning process, from forecasting to order placement and delivery, to ensure that materials are available when and where they are needed. Planning and placing purchase orders for raw materials, packaging, and consumables
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date master data related to materials, suppliers, and production processes in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
• Tracking production performance and adjust supply plan for fresh ingredients
• Develop and implement a plan for managing inventory of end-of-life (EOL) products, including identifying potential write-offs or alternative uses for existing inventory
• Identify and manage obsolete and slow-moving inventory, working with the production and sales teams to minimize waste and maximize value
• Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify and address any issues related to quality, lead times, or pricing and work together with the Procurement Manager to mitigate future risk/issues.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving supply chain efficiency, reducing costs, and increasing customer satisfaction
Skills and Experience:
▪ Power BI / D365 experience /Intermediate Excel skills would be advantageous
▪ Previous experience within FMCG / Food Industry
▪ Inquisitive and energetic nature
▪ Excellent analytical skills
▪ Strong communication skills
