Our dynamic Tax Advisory is practice is a team of legislative experts, together, covering the complete tax spectrum. With a focus on clients in the middle-market, the team has the opportunity to directly engage with business owners and key stakeholders, delivering impactful solutions. We’re focused on outcomes for clients, not internal box ticking exercises, team members are empowered to challenge the status quo and find a way to make things happen to add real value to our clients’ businesses.

The Transfer Pricing team operates as a cohesive group within the broader Tax Advisory practice. The team provide specialist transfer pricing advice to a wide range of clients in relation to cross-border transactions. We truly believe our one firm approach achieves the best outcomes for clients, so you’re encouraged to collaborate across practice teams to find solutions. 

Team members receive regular tax technical training from the National Tax Group. From legislative updates, recent cases, and ATO public rulings, our training keeps you updated on the latest developments in tax. Regular training keeps the team up to date on current tax matters.

About the role

As an Assistant Manager or Manager within our Transfer Pricing team of our Tax Advisory practice, you will prepare and deliver technical, commercially-focused transfer pricing advice to a range of multinational companies, varying in size and complexity. The breadth of the role means in any one day you might provide advice across a range of technical transfer pricing issues as well as being a trusted advisor partnering with clients to help solve their broader business issues.

Key responsibilities

  • Transfer Pricing Advisory: reviewing and assessing our clients’ global supply chains and providing transfer pricing support to new and existing arrangements as well as preparing transfer pricing policies and policy implementation support for these arrangements.
  • Transfer Pricing Controversy: gathering evidence and analysis and preparing detailed responses to the ATO to defend our clients’ transfer pricing arrangements when under ATO review and audit.
  • Transfer Pricing Compliance: working with the wider tax group to prepare our clients’ transfer Country by Country reporting requirements, International Dealings Schedules and Australian transfer pricing documentation. In addition, preparing reportable tax position (“RTP”) analyses together with practical compliance guideline positions
  • Coach, support, and lead team members, delivering technical training
  • Engage in business development opportunities

Who we’re after

  • Professional tax services experience, having had exposure to transfer pricing issues
  • Experience delivering commercial tax/transfer pricing advice to a range of clients from different backgrounds or business sectors
  • Positive team player with the ability to contribute to the delivery of successful client projects and manage and coach junior team members. 
  • Effective communicator, can build rapport, influence, and negotiate effectively with both internal and external clients when required.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage conflicting deadlines. You have a genuine interest in furthering your career in tax and providing exceptional advice to our clients and internal stakeholders.
