The Role

A Senior UI designer at WooliesX creates customer advocacy by designing interfaces that are intuitive, usable, and accessible. You will have a proven track record of working within Agile teams on Native iOS & Android Mobile platforms to execute projects from conception to release (represented in portfolio). 

You will work closely with the Design System team, consisting of UX, UI, Product and Engineering capabilities.

We expect you to have an evolved understanding of how people use their devices, the flexibility to adapt to new technologies, and a robust toolkit.

As well as:

Ability to design outstanding product interfaces creating a positive emotional connection between customers and our brands Strong capability in executing flexible and scalable components and component properties for Design Systems Deep understanding of Apple’s human interface design guidelines, Android design and other mobile platform designs, including Google’s Material Design. Display empathy for all users by championing inclusivity and producing designs that meet WCAG AA standards Understand Human Centred Design principles and practises the Laws of UX consistently in their approach. Have a strength and desire to communicate and present conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually Exhibit a high degree of proficiency in producing polished prototypes, mockups, delivery documentation, and assets (illustrations, icons, etc) Enjoy working side by side with developers and test engineers to ensure design acceptance criteria is defined, understood, and executed. Partner and collaborate with other designers, copywriters, legal advisors, digital content producers, brand, marketing, product owners, business analysts, test engineers and developers Experience in building, launching, and maintaining complex design libraries Contribute to a strong existing design culture by sharing tools, knowledge, and proposing ways to improve our processes, rituals, and accelerate delivery across the team Staying ahead of the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in the mobile and web design field while remaining open to new creative ideas

Likes to think and design in systems Enjoys creating guidelines and articulating best practices on how to use components and patterns to drive adoption of the Design System Thrives in collaborative workspaces and builds on ideas and feedback from others Prioritises the needs and preferences of all types of users, aiming to simplify and improve experiences instead of opting for their own preferences or designs. Is likely a bit of a Figma nerd (like us) and likes to talk about tokens Passionate about your craft with an exacting focus to the detail Always proactive on incorporating delight where you see opportunities Constantly takes ownership of developing your craft, knowledge, and skillset Responsive and open to critique on work with a willingness to iterate based on feedback Have advanced skills in industry-leading software and technologies (Figma, Adobe CC, Miro, Jira, Confluence, Google suite, etc) A team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment Have a growth mindset and intent to enjoy your work and the company of your team members - on the reg
