Accommodation Clerk

Ventia are currently seeking to employ an Accommodation Clerk to work on Ventia’s Defence Base Services, Australian Navy, on Garden Islands HMAS Stirling – Fleet Base West.  
Experience a daily commute to Garden Island across the causeway that boasts the most picturesque ocean views

Working closely with the current Accommodation Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the housekeeping operations services and room booking and allocation service for all authorised navy personnel posted, attached to, or transiting through the base whilst providing exceptional customer services to our client. 

Some of your key duties will include, but not limited to, requesting vendor quotes, organising payments, following work approval processes, all within narrow timeframes. You will be adept at time management, organisational skills and prioritising tasks. This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday-Thursday 08:00am-04:00pm, Friday 07:30 am-04:00pm 

Successful candidates must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check. Ability to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening).

Key duties, but not limited to:

• Provide reception services including room booking and allocation service for all authorised personnel in alignment with Defences booking schedule
• Issuing keys on arrival and collecting keys upon departure and maintain accurate records of key allocations for all rooms/buildings keys
• Liaise with the Manager to ensure that accommodation allocated is appropriate to the member’s rank or status and seek direction in the event of unavailability of appropriate level accommodation
• Manage linen inventory
• Support the wider domestic services team by consistently delivering professional service to customers 
• Ensure room Inventory and condition reports are completed prior to arrival and upon departure
• Be proactive in ensuring that furnishings, fittings and essential services in accommodation buildings and rooms are operational and in good working order 
• Effectively plan and coordinate the work of subcontractors and finalise payment for works completed 

Requirements:

• Australian Driver’s License
• Experience in a similar role is highly regarded
• Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team 
• Strong computer skills with the Microsoft Suite
• Experience in using Room Management Systems desirable.
