Grosvenor Mine has two exciting opportunities for an experienced Ventilation Officer to join the team on a permanent basis, based in Moranbah, QLD. You will be able to display a high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving skills which will be instrumental in your success in this role.

Reporting to the Ventilation & Gas Superintendent, your key accountabilities include:

The implementation of the mine’s ventilation system and the establishment of effective standards of ventilation for the mine Ensure the mine’s air quality is measured and recorded under section 362 Maintain all ventilation system changes in the mine and ensure all ventilation control devices are properly constructed and maintained Work closely with the BCO Ventilation & Gas team and provide strategic advice on short to medium term mine development to optimize the value of the mine in terms of ventilation Assist with the management, planning, implementation and monitoring of the underground mine ventilation and gas drainage systems to ensure effectiveness against legislation and site requirements Maintain the mine’s statutory compliance with the Coal Mine Safety and Health Regulations by implementing and maintaining gas monitoring systems Qualifications: Queensland Ventilation Officer Certificate of Competency for Underground Coal Mines (RSHQ) Formal qualifications as a Ventilation Officer being recognised by Queensland or the ability to gain mutual recognition Demonstrated experience in an underground coal mining operation as well as specialist knowledge in ventilation Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems, and a continuous improvement mindset Ability to influence and build relationships throughout the site A strong background in ensuring hazard identification and risk assessment principles, coupled with the compliance of all ventilation matters relating to legislation and the site safety management system
