The SeniorEnvironmental Advisor (Closure Planning) role is a newly createdopportunity in our HSE Strategy Planning & Projects Team basedat our Perth CBD or Muja site, with frequent site-based work in theCollie region.

The purposeof this role is to inform the transition and support positiveenvironmental outcomes as Synergy transitions into sustainablegeneration. You will be responsible for identifying opportunitiesfor positive environmental outcomes in closure and rehabilitationacross Synergy sites and assist in the execution and completion ofprojects which will directly contribute to theseoutcomes.

Keyresponsibilities of the role include :

Providing environmental technical advice relating to the closure and rehabilitation of Synergy’s sites. Identifying and supporting the strategic pathway required as the business transitions from coal-based generation towards sustainable energy generation. Implementing progressive environmental rehabilitation of assets. Overseeing and supporting multiple concurrent work streams and undertaking site-based work across the Collie region. Ability to prioritise to ensure key objectives are achieved within allocated timeframes and budget.

Whatyou’ll bring:

Demonstrated project management skills, including project delivery, budgeting, and reporting. Thorough understanding and application of environmental legislative and regulatory requirements. Strong business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills and exposure to risk management and governance processes. Experience undertaking or managing rehabilitation or revegetation projects. Experience in waste management and the ability to identify resource recovery opportunities.
