Manager to Senior Manager, Private Business Tax

One of the world's leading independently-owned and managed accounting, advisory and consulting firms, is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to serve as Manager to Senior Manager for its growing Private Business Tax & Advisory within its Brisbane office. By joining the team, you will deliver integrated advice to with a broad range of clients, from SMEs to large companies.

The role:

  • Work closely with our clients in meeting their accounting and tax compliance requirements, including preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, BAS, FBT and payroll tax returns.
  • Expert utilisation of a range of accounting software including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks
  • Providing tax planning and business advisory services to clients, including analysing financial and non-financial information to assist clients to monitor performance
  • Develop strong relationships with clients and seek to further these relationships through quality product delivery
  • Recognizing potential additional work opportunities among current clients and actively promoting the firm and its services to both clients and associates.
  • Manage the team training and mentoring with responsibilities to help grow the team’s knowledge and contribute to the business as a whole.
  • Managing multi-jurisdiction teams and coordination with other experts engaged in the project.

You must have:

  • Have work rights, Australian Citizenship or hold Permanent Residency status in Australia
  • At least 5+ years’ experience with Business Tax & Advisory, with strong technical skills;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar and completed CA/CPA/CTA qualifications;
  • A solid understanding of accounting standards and reporting responsibilities;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Previous experience leading, coaching and mentoring less experienced team members
