Are you passionate about creating resilient communities and protecting them from natural hazards? Join our dynamic team at Jacobs in Syndey as a Wildfire and Natural Hazards Resilience Consultant. As an Associate Consultant, you'll work with our Principal Climate and Wildfire Resilience Consultant to deliver comprehensive bushfire and natural hazards risk assessments and adaptive planning projects. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of natural hazards resilience across Australia and New Zealand.

In this position, you'll provide specialized professional services, including risk assessments and adaptive planning for wildfire and natural hazards. You'll collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop innovative solutions and contribute to groundbreaking projects that enhance community resilience. Your work will directly contribute to the advancement of natural hazards resilience across Australia and New Zealand. You'll help build stronger, more resilient infrastructure and communities while working on projects that make a real difference in people's lives.

Here's what you'll need

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, with experience in bushfire planning, risk assessment and management
  • Experience in bushfire behaviour modelling using Spark, Phoenix Rapidfire or similar models
  • Strong data analysis skills and experience with GIS software
  • A well-developed understanding of climate change and how this influences bushfire and other natural 
  • Well-developed writing and presentation skills
  • Ideally you will be a Bushfire Planning and Design Accredited Practitioner who is recognised as a suitably qualified bushfire consultant by NSW Rural Fire Service
