  • We are seeking a Registered (Div 1) Practice Nurse for our Thomastown clinic with a minimum of 2 years experience in Community Health or Primary Care. The role is a permanent part time position.
    36.5 hours per week (less hours negotiable).

    About First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing 

    First Peoples’ Health and Wellbeing is a not-for-profit Aboriginal Community Controlled health service delivering trauma informed, culturally safe, primary care and mental health care services. You will be working with a supportive team of Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, General Practitioners and Medical Administration Officers who are passionate about providing health services to First Nations People.

    About the role

    Our practice nurses deliver culturally safe, high-quality clinical services and patient care in a warm and welcoming environment. The role is responsible for providing direct clinical services including screening, treatment, conducting health assessments, creating care plans, assisting with procedures and providing immunisations. You will contribute to a culturally safe environment and assist to maintain AGPAL accreditation of the clinic. This role is also required to provide medical administration support such as triaging clients and taking phone calls.

    We are looking for a friendly, respectful person with strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks. You will be passionate about working in the Aboriginal primary health care sector and commit to providing exceptional care with compassion. We require skilled and professional workers who can demonstrate building strong relationships and trust with the people they work with and provide services to.

    Essential:

    • AHPRA Registered Div 1 Nurse
    • Working with Children's Check, Police check and Drivers Licence required.

    Desirable

    • Additional qualifications such as Nurse Immuniser, Diabetes Nurse Educator or similar.
    • Experience using Best Practice or similar medical software.
