The Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabricator/welder, with machining experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in MIG and TIG welding mild steel and aluminium.

The candidate will be responsible for producing high quality parts and assemblies from technical drawings and CAD software.

We are looking for a motivated ‘self starter’ able to work autonomously and offer support to the small proto-build/fabrication team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assembly Welding & Fabrication

• Perform welding tasks, including MIG/TIG for mild steel and TIG welding aluminium.

• Perform fabrication tasks, including cutting, bending, drilling, and shaping materials.

• Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, cutting, and shaping.

 Machinery Operation

• Operate and maintain various types of machinery, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

• Perform fitting and turning tasks to create parts and components that meet strict tolerances.

• Use measuring tools such as micro-meters, calipers and gauges to ensure accuracy.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Conduct regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

• Troubleshoot and repair machinery as needed.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Trade qualification in welding or fitting and turning desirable

Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a fabrication/welding role.

• Proven track record of working with a variety of machinery and welding techniques.

• Experience with CAD software highly regarded

• Experience with Microsoft suite highly regarded

Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Can do attitude.
