Aboutthe role
The AnimalCare Attendant is responsible for assisting the Animal Shelter Teamto provide care and basic animal health to animals housed at theshelter such as; cleaning and maintaining animal shelterfacilities, feeding and watering, bathing and grooming animalsunder the supervision of the Coordinator AnimalShelter. In this role you will also assist in therehoming of animals, by providing face to face interaction andcustomer service with the intention to ensure animals are returnedhome and ensure animals in the shelter are taken careof.
Aboutyou
To beconsidered for this role you will have a Certificate II inCompanion Animal Services or similar, as well as the ability toverbally and visually identify and describe animals, for instancethe colours, sizes and breeds of different species. You will haveexperience in animal care and handling skills and also the abilityto listen, understand and empathise with others. You will have towork in a fast-paced environment and make basic sound decisionsbased on animal hygiene and welfare. You will be available to workon a roster as reasonably required including weekends and publicholidays. A Current ‘C’ class drivers licence andBasic First Aid is essential.
