We are looking for a chef de partie who has experience working in busy cafes or restaurants and has a passion for serving delicious food. Great team environment, potential for growth and support from senior management. Immediate start. This is a full time ongoing position, 38 hours per week, Salary $75,000 + 11.5% Superannuation.
About the Role
Chef De Partie: Assist the head chef in all duties.
· Assisting with menu development, costing of menu, food costing to %. working with suppliers to obtain the best prices & best quality. Checking each invoice has been charged correctly. Making sure staff have checked & signed invoice on arrival so they are ready for payment.
· Preparing food to standards, cooking breakfast, line chef in the evening.
· Adherence to recipes & specifications in line with company standards
· Stock control including regular stocktaking, ordering & waste management, wastage sheets
· Health & Safety and Food Safety Compliance
· Be up to date with all allergy requirements & train staff accordingly
· Ability to work in a fast past environment. Keeping a cool attitude
· High level of kitchen management, organisational & administrative skills, directing & training staff, working alongside the restaurant manager with regular weekly meetings.
· Training, coaching, motivating and managing the team, being apart of the team. Be an inspirational leader, be able to drive the team. Excellent communication skills.
· Help with rosters & a commitment to working within a budget & labour costs. Keeping costs with % budget.
Skills & Experience – Who we’re looking for:
For this position, it is expected that you would possess the following qualifications/work experience:
· Minimum Diploma level qualification in a Hospitality related qualification
· At least 2 years of relevant experience as a Chef role within a restaurant
· Must have eye for detail
· Strong communication skills
· High standards of cleanliness & hygiene
