Description

We are in search of an HR Specialist passionate about guiding the human resources dimension of Respect's new acquisitions. The position is ideal for an experienced HR Business Partner well-versed in managing diverse facets of industrial relations, such as union negotiations, and adhering to labor laws and regulations.

As Respect continues to expand, this role will collaborate with a Culture & Change Specialist to seamlessly integrate new acquisitions into the Respect organisation.

Applicants will be accepted from Victoria, New South Wales or Tasmania.

Please be advised, this role will require frequent travel to Respect sites, including temporary relocation for short-term periods.

The Position:

This HR Projects Specialist requires a proactive and strategic mindset, along with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be a trusted advisor and resource for employees and management, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organisation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on matters related to industrial relations.
  • Collaborate with HR, legal, and other relevant departments to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote fairness and compliance.
  • Represent the organisation in negotiations with unions or employee representatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Develop comprehensive reports outlining the identified gaps and recommended solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance and support with workplace relations matters and processes.
  • Create and implement strategies and initiatives to address the identified gaps and enhance the people and culture function at the newly acquired site.
  • Monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and make necessary adjustments to ensure a successful transformation.
  • Consult with staff regarding the implementation of Respect's site structure, roster structure and ways of working.
  • Develop and deliver engaging workshops and training sessions on people related changes.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience (3 years) working in industrial relations or a related field, preferably in a complex organizational setting.
  • Experience negotiating with unions.
  • Strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of residential aged care, home care and retirement living industry.
  • Experience in delivering workshops and training sessions is highly desirable.
