About the opportunity
Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers? As our Medium Rigid Truck Driver in our friendly Townsville team, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that
This is a full time permanent role working Monday to Friday including all entitlements and $31.26/hr plus 12% super and overtime rates.
You’ll be
- Performing freight handling (up to 30kg of lifting) and safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility
- Scanning freight
- Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
- Driving our modern trucks between our facility and residential, industrial and commercial customers, for deliveries and pick-ups
- Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups and complete final paperwork
About you
You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality who loves autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.
You’ll also need to
- Hold an unrestricted medium rigid vehicle license
- Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights (up to 30kg), frequently in and out of a truck and enjoy the pick up and delivery experience
- Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility
- Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills
- You will need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less
- Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening, national police checks and a driving assessment in a MR truck
