The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.

This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. 
  
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint a Senior Planner.

About the Role

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will be responsible for the overall delivery of the Planning & Scheduling function for the SSTOM Project. The role involves execution planning, schedule maintenance, change management, progress measurement and evaluation, trending and forecasting. You will also ensure constant up-to-date reporting of the project program status.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining processes for program of construction programmes that reflect agreed methodologies and identify key activities, milestones, and constraints.
  • Establishing and maintaining accurate construction, procurement and deliverables schedules based on the Work Breakdown Structure and contract requirements.
  • Ensuring the processes and controls for planning are carried in accordance with the Construction Management System and Contract requirements
  • Actively contribute to the identification of, mitigation and response to project risks and opportunities
  • Contribute to establishing and maintain standards and processes to ensure that program, progress and other scheduling data is maintained up to date in P6, including EV and cost and revenue cash flow requirements
  • Preparation of staging documentation for meetings and reviews
  • Coordinate detailed monthly reviews of the project program with delivery teams and consolidate and compile project program reports
  • Advising Project managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance, forward planning and development of corrective actions to maximise project delivery outcomes.
  • Supporting and maintaining strong relationships and clear lines of communication with project teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Tertiary qualification in an engineering discipline preferably Civil Engineering

Minimum Experience

  • At least 5 years of Experience as a planner
  • Extensive experience on complex, high value projects within the infrastructure or rail sectors

Job-Specific Skills

  • Previous experienced in Civil construction projects
  • Proven competency with current industry standard planning software including Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, Microsoft Project, TILOS etc

Key Competencies

  • Strong “team-player” qualities
  • Experience in an execution project environment with detailed knowledge of Execution Planning, schedule quantitative risk analysis, schedule maintenance and change management, progress measurement and evaluation, trending and forecasting, and reporting
  • Hands on experience in planning and preparing logic diagrams, critical path networks and bar charts, with particular emphasis on detailed construction schedules.
  • Experience in high value project environments from inception to close-out
  • Strong personal computer skills (particularly MS Office suite) and relevant project controls specific software skills i.e. Primavera P6
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey project technical information to project stakeholders.
  • Organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task & prioritize.
