Ventia are offering a rare opportunity for a hands-on and suitably experienced Floating Dock Operator to operate the Floating Dock during all docking and undocking.

In this role, you will maximise the availability of the Floating Dock infrastructure for all users, including providing technical and operational advice and inductions regarding its use, and includes the Floating Dock and Self-Propelled Modular Transporter (SPMT) operations. 

Other responsibilities include conducting planned maintenance of assets, including adherence with licensing and certification with relevant authorities, scheduling and keeping accurate records of all preventative and planned maintenance activities, contracting of maintenance services and reporting to ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety requirements.

About YOU:

Minimum 3 years as a Marine Engineer Class 3 or equivalent marine/naval maintenance experience 2 years’ experience in maintenance management.  Experience of using an electronic maintenance management program - SAP an advantage Experience issuing permits to work Control room/systems experience and exposure Experience with safety and environmental control Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to build relationships with clients and subcontractors Physically able to access all locations on the Floating Dock including confined spaces e.g. ballast tanks  Courteous and polite in the workplace environment  Well presented at all times

 
Australian Marine Complex Common User Facility (AMC CUF) is a multi-industry, multi-user industrial facility serviced by a deep-water port, a floating dock and transfer system, specialised load out wharves, extensive laydown and assembly areas and several large fabrication halls. 

Ventia Australia Pty Ltd is the Operator and Facility Manager of the AMC CUF and its assets, including the Floating Dock and Transfer System. The dock’s control system makes it the most technologically advanced in the world.
