About the role:

Are you passionate about driving excellence in property development? Do you have a deep understanding of quality assurance practices and a proven track record in managing complex projects? Uniting is seeking a Property Development Quality Manager to join our Property Development Team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of property development at Uniting, ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Development and Process Management:

  • Lead the development, production, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Uniting Property Development Process (UPDP) across all stages of the property development lifecycle.
  • Document and implement comprehensive processes, procedures, checklists, and tools to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
  • Engage with Design Quality, Construction Quality, and Commissioning Managers to integrate their quality management requirements into the overall process.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and manage base documents, including functional briefs, project plans, timelines, budgets, and contracts.
  • Establish and monitor development KPIs, conducting regular quality reviews to identify and address potential issues proactively.

Quality Management:

  • Develop and enforce quality assurance processes and procedures, ensuring that all property development projects comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify adherence to the UPDP, addressing any non-compliance through corrective action plans.

Education and Mentorship:

  • Provide training and mentorship to internal and external teams, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-versed in the UPDP and related processes.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development.

Innovation and Evaluation:

  • Stay informed of industry changes and innovations, integrating new practices and standards into the UPDP to achieve best-in-class project outcomes.
  • Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and competitor analysis to refine and enhance Uniting’s property development processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or Master’s Degree in Property Development or a related field.
  • Project Management qualifications are essential.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in property development, with significant experience in managing complex projects in large organisations.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Building Code of Australia (BCA), Australian Standards, and other relevant NSW and National Codes of Practice.
  • Proven experience in creating, operating, and enforcing property development processes and policies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, educate, and develop teams to achieve high-quality outcomes.
  • A strong commitment to social change and improving outcomes for disadvantaged communities.
  • Previous experience in construction quality management, with a thorough understanding of AS/NZS ISO 9001, AS4801, and AS/NZS ISO 14001 standards.

Preferred Experience:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Design, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Town Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Membership in relevant industry peak bodies.
  • Experience in Aged Care and Retirement Living sectors.
