Senior Strategic Planner

As Senior Strategic Planner you will use your creative urban thinking and policy expertise to contribute to strategy, heritage reviews, urban design frameworks and structure plans, and their implementation. You will lead projects and project teams through the strategic lifecycle, to progress the organisation’s goals and collaborate cross functionally to achieve sustainable outcomes. Through active sharing of knowledge and harnessing talents and strengths, you will also mentor less experienced staff to further their professional development.
You will also:
Lead and contribute to diverse projects, including planning/management and delivery Conduct high quality research and analysis that positively contributes to strategies, heritage reviews, urban design frameworks, structure plans and other strategic documents Ensure projects are managed to efficiently coordinate tasks, timelines and resources and provide planning excellence Ensure project tasks are allocated to optimise project team strengths and develop new skills Collaborative cross-organisational and multi-organisational projects with meaningful community engagement that achieve ‘buy-in’. Mentor planners by ensuring they are able to contribute across the project lifecycle, including scoping, management, procurement, consultation and engagement, delivery and implementationThis is a permanent full time position with an annual salary range of $, - $, per annum + % superannuation. We come together at least 3 days a week so we can collaborate in our vibrant office culture. You are based within our bright, modern and sustainable Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern where boutique stores, cafes and health clubs are in abundance. From the office you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale or Glenferrie Road. Malvern and Armadale Train Station are a short walk away and tram stops are out the front of the building.

Desired Skills and Experience
Demonstrated understanding of the Planning and Environment Act 7 and the Planning Scheme Ability to lead strategic projects, including project management and community engagement skills Ability to contribute to evidence-based strategies, policies and guidelines for complex urban planning issues Exposure to preparing and developing project proposals that define goals, cost and resource impacts Experience in processing planning scheme amendments, including contribution to planning panels Highly effective communication and collaboration skills to clearly explain, influence and negotiate on specialist issues, and create opportunities for others to be heard Leadership skills to mentor less experienced staff to further their professional development Excellent written, verbal and visual presentation skills.Join Stonnington today.
