The role
As a senior lawyer, your role will include:
providing advice, guidance, and assistance on all aspects of ASIC's investigation of criminal offences and the prosecutions of those offences, including policies relating to the exercise of ASIC's information gathering powers collaborating with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) in relation to complex criminal prosecutions. They also consult with stakeholders and provide advice on legislative reform relevant to information-gathering powers, investigations, criminal offences and criminal procedures reviewing and developing criminal law policies and practices within ASIC.About you
We are looking for someone with 5+ years post admission experience in complex criminal investigations and enforcement activities, particularly white collar/corporate crime, along with experience in strategic management of major criminal cases.
You'll need strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, with the ability to negotiate and consult to engage all levels of the organisation and develop effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are essential, along with the ability to work to meet deadlines while managing several competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
