Grange Resources Tasmania is on the lookout for a Mine Controller to join our operation in Savage River.

We are seeking a Mine Controller to plan, coordinate, and supervise our open pit mine activities.

Roster: 4 on 4 off day/night continuous rotating shift roster

Day to day

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Mine Control – involving close monitoring of operational activities, including running the mine star system and sub-part of this program
• Assisting with field Supervision – involving pit inspections; hazard identification and control; supervision of drilling, load, haul and ancillary operations; training and coaching mine operators and contractor management
• Support Supervision – involving assisting mine plan development, managing people issues and incident investigation

Who you are

To be successful in this role you have:

• A current full manual drivers’ licence
• Demonstrable experience in a supervisory position
• A minimum of Certificate IV in Metalliferous Mining
• Solid mining operational knowledge and competence
• Basic survey drill and blast experience
• Sound computer and record-keeping skills
• Self-organised and able to complete multiple, routine and assigned tasks efficiently and on time while maintaining effective work behaviour in the face of pressure
• Proven interpersonal, communication and people management skills
• Able to demonstrate initiative and commitment to continuous improvement

Grange holds long term supply contracts for one million tonnes of its annual production and offers the balance of its production to market via a spot sales tendering/contracting process.

Savage River

The Savage River magnetite iron ore mine is a long-life mining asset where ore is mined and processed before it is transported by pipeline to Grange's pellet plant and ship loading facility at Port Latta.

The Savage River worksite is only an hour and half drive away from the vibrant coastal towns of north-west Tasmania, which offers a fantastic regional lifestyle and is only an hour’s flight from Melbourne with regular services from airports at Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
