The Parklife Metro Consortium is working on an exciting new metro rail infrastructure project in Greater Western Sydney.

This city shaping project, which will be delivered under a Public Private Partnership, will provide a major economic stimulus for Western Sydney. 
  
WeBuild as a D&C Contractor member, will be responsible for the successful delivery of the design and construction elements of the project, and we are currently looking to appoint Data Analyst.
 
Skill Requirements:

  1. Proficiency in Power BI: Advanced -Demonstrated expertise in using Power BI to analyze and visualize construction data effectively, Microsoft Products and PowerPoint. (Very important)
  2. Data Analysis Skills: Strong analytical skills to interpret complex construction data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  3. Database Management: Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Azure SQL Database) to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for analysis in Power BI.
  4. Data Visualization: Ability to create interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Power BI to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  5. Technical Skills: Familiarity with other data analysis tools and programming languages commonly used in construction data analysis, such as Advanced Excel, Python. (Very important)
  6. Construction Industry Knowledge: Understanding of construction processes, terminology, and data sources to contextualize and interpret construction-related data accurately.
  7. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify data-related challenges in construction projects and develop innovative solutions using Power BI.
  8. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings, and provide recommendations based on data analysis.
  9. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and reliability in analysis and reporting.  (Very important)
  10. Project Management: Experience managing data analysis projects, including defining project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  11. Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay updated on the latest developments in Power BI and data analysis techniques to enhance skills and improve efficiency.
  12. Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other analysts, engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and drive data-driven decision-making in construction projects.
  13. Ability to meet deadlines: and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  14. Familiarity with data privacy regulations: and a commitment to upholding confidentiality and security standards.
  15. Proficiency in statistical analysis and mathematical modeling: Data analysts must possess strong skills in statistical methods such as hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and predictive modeling. Understanding mathematical concepts behind these techniques and their application to real-world data is essential for extracting meaningful insights.
  16. Knowledge of programming and data manipulation: Data analysts often work with large datasets, requiring proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and SQL. Strong skills in data manipulation and cleaning are crucial for preparing data for analysis, as well as for automating repetitive tasks to streamline workflows.
  17. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities: Effective data analysts possess strong critical thinking skills to interpret data trends, identify patterns, and draw actionable insights. They must be able to approach problems analytically, creatively, and systematically, leveraging their mathematical expertise to address complex business challenges and drive informed decision-making.

Job Description:

  1. Report to the Reporting Manager and provide support for various types of reports, ensuring timely delivery.
  2. Develop and create interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations using Power BI to visualize construction data effectively.
  3. Manage the refresh and maintenance of the database in Power BI, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  4. Design and create data source templates tailored to the specific needs of different departments within the organization.
  5. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced project environment, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure and collaborate as a team player. (Very important)
  6. Extract data from multiple systems and sources, consolidating and transforming it for analysis and reporting purposes.
  7. Input data accurately into reporting tools, ensuring completeness and consistency.
  8. Demonstrate a clear understanding of and adherence to the company's information privacy and data security policies.
