What your typical day involves:
- Troubleshooting complex IBM midrange issues for our customers whilst proactively maintaining our environment.
- Responding and actioning alerts.
- Providing subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders on a range of IBM I / OS400 operating system queries.
- Preparing Monthly reporting for customers.
- Designing, deploying and implementing monitoring and automation solutions.
- Applying enterprise class IT Infrastructure and processes for business critical, high availability customer systems.
- Implementing, maintaining and supporting new and existing IBM I (AS400) server infrastructures.
- Engineering support, system tuning, automation and back up of systems.
Key skills we are looking for:
- Working knowledge of IBM I / OS400 Operating systems (V7R2, V7R3, V7R4).
- Working knowledge of Power Systems, IBM Storage, IBM Brocade Switches.
- Working knowledge of Power VM / HMC.
- Working knowledge of Patching and Server Administration.
Whilst not essential, it would be great if you had exposure and experience with:
- Power HA / Mimix / or other replication Products.
- Monitoring Solutions for IBM I, Maxava Mi8, Revsoft, or another suite.
- CL or RPG Coding.
- BRMS configuration and management.
- Security Products – Razlee Isecurity or similar.
- AIX or Linux.
- Ansible or orchestration software.
