About the role

The Procurement team offers a unique blend of challenges and opportunities to play a pivotal role in shaping the council’s purchasing decisions, collaborate with various departments, suppliers and stakeholders and implementing innovative solutions.

Whether it’s infrastructure projects, public services, or environmental initiatives, your work contributes to the well-being of Ipswich residents.

As Senior Procurement Officer you will be part of the Procurement Operations team and responsible for Operations of Council’s Warehousing activities at the Main Store. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Determine, implement and monitor strategies and procedures for storing and distributing goods from warehousing stores.
  • Manage the daily workloads of warehouse employees, working closely with upper management to ensure business goals are met.
  • Together with the Procurement Branch, you will drive sustainable annual cost savings programs, leading the development and alignment of sourcing strategies for spend categories.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A passion for working collaboratively in a team environment
  • Five or more years active experience in a similar role, preferably in a public sector capacity
  • The ability to be resilient, solutions-focussed, and capable of developing solid working relationships with key stakeholders across Council

About the benefits

This is a fixed term (6 month) full time position, Level 7 with a salary commencing at $110,575 plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
