Carpenter - Leading Hand

Randstad Launceston is seeking experienced Leading Hand Carpenter/Supervisors to join our team on an upcoming exciting major project on the North West Coast.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Experience working on Major Projects
• Keen eye for detail and have an ability to produce high quality work
• Ability to push a team and adhere to site and company procedures
• Ability to supervise and coordinate effectively
• Direction and management of carpenters, labourers and other trades
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and prioritise tasks
• Interpersonal skills to maintain good relationships with trades, management and contractors
• Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to build strong rapport with trades,Labourers, management and site supervisors
• Good computer literacy

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• 5 + years experience as a licensed carpenter
• Hands on approach to all aspects of carpentry
• Experience in leading a small team of carpenters and labourers
• Experience in major projects advantageous
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - ability to build relationships with team and site supervisors
• Ability to drive projects to meet deadlines on time
• Proven experience of effectively manage a team, in a professional manner and ensuring longevity of relationships
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and requirements, has proven experience of effectively controlling site safety
• Good communicator with the ability to deal with issues if they occur
