What does the job look like?

The Inventory Controller is a role, ultimately responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and facilitating appropriate capacity planning for this high-volume dynamic DC. An integral role that provides inventory and system integrity and inbound oversight to enable efficient resource allocation and throughput to provide confidence to our highly valued customer. 

Reporting to the Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for the accuracy of the SAP inventory records with respect to product quantities, locations, stock age, bond, remissions, breakages and production receipts to allow the efficient and cost-effective receipt, storage, picking and despatch of goods. This role in supporting the PM shift starting at 2pm although some flexibility required. Key areas:

Provision of a robust inventory management program ensuring stock take and cycle counts are an accurate foundation for operational planningCoordinate inbound freight movement to provide efficiencyProactive customer relationship management, including reporting, provision of technical expertise as requiredBuild Inventory and Systems capability amongst team membersGenerate daily reconciliations; investigate and address variances and rectify any factors affecting accuracySupport policies, training and procedures to promote continuous improvement and safety adherence

This is a pivotal role requiring an inventory specialist that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Working closely with the customer, you will provide inventory and systems expertise to provide operational efficiency. You can demonstrate:

Demonstrable experience managing large, SKU heavy InventoryStrong computer literacy skills, with expertise in SAP and various WMS and ERP systemsProcess driven, analytical and methodical with ability to influence various stakeholdersAbility to prioritise competing tasks and effectively manage customer relationshipsExperience in developing and implementing CI initiatives across multiple functions
