Purchasing Officer

We are currently seeking a Purchasing Officer to maintain and purchase inventory to support our branch operations nationally.
About the role:
To purchase and transfer inventory items as required by the Company at the optimum quality and price to meet operational and customer requirements. Key responsibilities include:
Replenishment branch inventory using MIN/MAX MRP system Raise purchase orders for inventory and equipment required by the Company Monitor purchase orders to ensure these are modified to meet changes in pricing and delivery times Monitor supplier performance and products to ensure they meet the required standards Maintain awareness and monitor quantities of inventory to ensure that shortages and stock outs are avoided Monitor the purchasing and inventory transfer arrangements of different branches to ensure that they are taking advantage of the most favourable terms Report any significant supply problems to the Procurement Manager Monitor slow and obsolete stocks and work with the Procurement Manager to reduce where applicable Provide clerical back up to the Procurement Manager as required i.e. data input of stock receipts, price increases, stock transfers, discounts structures, special quotes and pricing
About you – Skills and experience:
Knowledge of both Import and Local Purchasing would be an advantage although not essential At least 2-3 years experience in a similar role Advanced MS Excel skills Strong attention to detail Proven accurate product forecasting skills Exceptional time management skills Ability to work autonomously in a busy environment Positive team player who can communicate and work closely with sales and operational staff, to balance the conflicting demands of cost of stock and stock-outs Experience in Harmoniq ERP would be an advantage although not essential Benefits:
