Pressure Welder

Nigel’s Service Centre provides training and assessment services in Geraldton and the Midwest for 23 Years. The key to success for Nigel’s Service Centre is our qualified and knowledgeable staff, along with the ability to create an atmosphere where people enjoy themselves whilst training. Nigel’s Service Centre also constructs and sells container homes. As such, Nigel’s Service Centre requires a pressure welder to assist with the construction on the container homes and for fixed/mobile plant maintenance.

This role has full time hours and overtime work is required on a regular basis. The base salary offered is $70,000.00 per annum plus superannuation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

●    Reading blueprints and drawings; taking measurements to plan layout and procedures.

●    Preparing and welding metal structures and components by using high heat equipment and welding processes such as MIG, TIG, and electric arc welding

●    Determining the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

●    Operating hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment such as oxyacetylene torch, electric arc machine, and robotic welding cells based on project needs

●    Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor

●    Welding components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)

●    Setting up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).

●    Assessing welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors

●    Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

●    At least 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience
