About The Role  

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Activity Lead – After Hours General Practice Services to join our Primary Care Transformation team. In this role, you’ll lead the planning, commissioning, implementation and coordination of our After-Hours GP services response across WA. You'll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver sustainable, patient-centred outcomes that align with WAPHA’s health priorities. 

This role will be offered as a full-time maximum-term contract for a period of 12 months. 

Key Duties

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation and evaluation of WAPHA’s After Hours GP services response, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and funding guidelines. 

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including general practice, health service providers, governance bodies, and program partners to drive collaborative efforts. 

• Oversee the commissioning of services and coordination of After-Hours GP activities, supporting seamless integration and effective service delivery. 

• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, proactively addressing issues to support program objectives and ensure success of the After-Hours GP services. 

• Develop and implement project and activity work plans, and monitor project progress against time, budget and quality standards. 

• Apply a continuous improvement approach and seize opportunities to integrate health services, create a better experience for patients, encourage better use of health resources, and eliminate service duplication into activities. 

• Contribute to budget planning and monitoring, advising on financial allocations, and making recommendations for resource utilisation. 

About you 

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria: 

• Tertiary qualification in health or human services, or equivalent expertise. 

• Demonstrated experience in delivering end-to-end activities, utilising tools to effectively plan, manage, and monitor progress. 

• Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. 

• Strong leadership and influence skills to drive project success. 

• Established networks with relevant stakeholders, such as the Department of Health, Area Health Services, and other service providers, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships. 

• Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of health service delivery in the Western Australian health and social context, particularly within general practice. 

• Formal project management qualification is desirable. 

• Advanced computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft tools including Office, Teams and Outlook.
