LME Care, a leading disability support provider in Brisbane, is seeking a creative and passionate Day Program Facilitator - Pottery Teacher to join our team. As a Day Program Facilitator - Pottery Teacher, you will have the opportunity to utilize your artistic skills and passion for pottery to support individuals with disabilities in exploring their creativity and enhancing their overall wellbeing. You will play a crucial role in facilitating pottery workshops and guiding participants through various pottery techniques and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate pottery workshops for individuals with disabilities
  • Plan and prepare engaging and interactive pottery lessons
  • Teach participants pottery techniques and help them create their own pottery pieces
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of participants
  • Provide guidance and support to participants in developing their artistic skills and creativity
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment during pottery sessions
  • Monitor and document participant progress and achievements
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to create a holistic program
  • Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations
  • Attend training and professional development sessions as required

Requirements

  • Experience or qualification in pottery and ceramics
  • Previous experience in facilitating workshops or teaching pottery preferred
  • Passion for working with individuals with disabilities and promoting their creative expression
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate individual learning styles
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Understanding of disability support principles and practices
  • Current first aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Availability to work during daytime hours
