About the Role - WHS & Injury Management Advisor

The WHS & Injury Management Advisor will work alongside the P&C team to drive organisational advice, support and coordination for all things WHS & IM across the organisation, including; assessing and managing incident reports, risks and controls, documentation, compliance and employee resources and supporting managers and staff. This is an exciting role for an enthusiastic self starter who is passionate about making an immediate impact to support Care Connect and our staff

Reporting to the Senior P&C Business Partner, the successful applicant will:  

  • Lead, monitor, review / scrutinise hazard and incident reporting; monitor incident investigations and close out (by managers); generate injury/near miss/ hazard data including trending; make recommendations
  • Support injured workers from the point of injury to return to full duties (co-ordinating with managers), aiming for the earliest possible return to work for the injured worker
  • Ensure all Workcover claims and injury documentation is complete, current and timely
  • Plan and lead the 'emergency duress' project (from pilot to full rollout); provide regular updates, risks and data; monitor outcomes
  • Promote an 'injury prevention' culture and support employees and managers to positively contribute
  • Develop and support the implementation of clear, easy to follow WHS procedures, resources and tools
  • Maintain policies, procedures and documentation as required (eg following legislative updates or for scheduled periodic documentation reviews etc).

About You

You will be a skilled and experienced WHS professional who has experience managing end to end Injury Management and RTW matters, someone who is eager to make an impact in this exciting role. Proactive and confident in your ability to translate legislation and partner with staff and managers to support with practical advice and solutions.

Experience in the health sector would be advantageous but not required.

To be successful, you will have:

  • Minimum 3 years full time, recent experience (or equivalent of) in a relevant WHS role
  • Experience in managing work cover claims and return to work plans (end to end process)
  • Broad knowledge of WHS, IM and risk management principles, and related legislation with the ability to implement
  • Proven experience leading, developing, implementing and monitoring WHS policies, procedures, committees and projects
  • Excellent report writing skills, and ability to take WHS data and turn it into insights that help with decision making
  • Experience implementing safety initiative such as; emergency duress, evacuation drills, vaccination projects
  • Strong planning and time management skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite and other technology systems
  • The desire to grow your People skills, knowledge and experience through on-the-job learning
  • Strong internal customer service skills and ethic
  • Excellent relationship building skills across all levels

  • All appointments are made subject to a satisfactory National Police Check conducted by Care Connect and a valid Working with Children Check provided by the applicant, as requested.
  • A statutory declaration is required, confirming residency in a country other than Australia. Depending on the information provided an international police check/s may also be required.
