WHAT IS THE POSITION?

Champ Resources are seeking applications from QUALIFIED Mechanical Tradespeople, for several vacancies offering 32-60 hours per week, every week 

Mechanical Tradespeople (this may include tradespeople with a background as Qualified Mechanical/Motor Mechanics/Diesel Fitters/Fitter Turner) are invited to apply.  The position/s vacancies are due to a steady flow of scheduled Service Day and Shutdown works, where our client undertakes regular maintenance of Coal Handling Prep Plant. 

You would join our client's service team in ROCKHAMPTON for on-going, continuous work on a 6 month Fixed Term basis with Champ, with permanent positions on offer for the right candidates.

Based out of the ROCKHAMPTON Facility, you would be working as part of a Service Crew, working up to 60 hours per week.  The crew often travels (travel paid hourly) out on a Sunday in the Company Service Vehicle to begin Qld Mine Site based work the following day (accommodation and meals are included whilst working away only) so having the flexibility to travel on ANY day is a MUST for your application to be considered.  Mine Site based work is regular and scheduled well in advance, so you will have some level of consistency to allow you to plan your life around these periods away from home.

Between shutdown periods, you would be working from the Rockhampton workshop, so you MUST live within 1 hour of the Rockhampton Workshop.

Accommodation in the Rockhampton region between shutdowns is not provided for and you will need to evidence where you reside locally.  To maintain a good lifestyle balance, when you are not working on site, you will only work a 4 day week (minimum of 32hrs) allowing you to be home with family and friends - so you'll be able to enjoy your down time.

Don't have CHPP experience?  That's okay.  If you have the right attitude and a great work ethic - our client can teach you the rest  

The right candidates will also have the opportunity to be considered for CURRENT Permanent positions OR to transition from Fixed Term employment with Champ Resources to direct employment with the Client in future, based upon solid performance 

TO BE CONSIDERED, you must meet the below criteria

• Relevant Mechanical Trade Qualifications, experience in fixed plant maintenance is desired.
• Std 11 Induction 
• You will hold a current Coal Board Medical, or be available to undertake pre-employment medical in the coming weeks
• Ability to pass daily and/or random D&A screening
• A strong commitment to WHS standards a MUST
• Current, unrestricted QLD drivers licence and reliable transport is a requirement of the role
• Applicants who hold current Qld Site Inductions for the following sites will be given priority: Caval Ridge, Curragh, Carborough Downs, Daunia, Hail Creek
• Applicants with additional High Risk Work Licences will be highly regarded
• Demonstrated ability to work in a customer facing environment - where you will represent our clients brand
• Ability to work as part of a small crew, travelling and working together - this will be verified with your current referees who have been your direct supervisor/s
