The Role
Applications are invited from qualified classroom teachers for a specialist role teaching VCE Economics and Middle School Humanities at our Caulfield Campus. The candidate will be enthusiastic, possess a forward-thinking mindset, and demonstrate aspirational teaching practices.
This is a 12-month fixed term full-time position commencing Term 1 2025. The successful applicant will demonstrate a passion for engaging and challenging students and for utilising learning technologies.
Key Duties
- Review and assess students at the beginning of each program to provide a flexible program that caters for individual students
- Deliver learning programs that demonstrate a research-based knowledge of how students learn and integrate Formative Assessment Techniques
- Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs including feedback from students and assessment data to inform planning
- Model high expectations to enable a safe and supportive classroom culture
- Provide reports within school standards and timelines
- Actively participate in professional development activities
- Embrace a culture of collaboration to enhance student learning
- Model and live the Caulfield Grammar School values and behaviours
Skills and Experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to connect positively with students and show genuine care for their learning
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Experience teaching Economics in Units 1-4 is desirable.
- Experience teaching Humanities at a Year 7-9 level is desirable.
- Hold a current VIT registration and relevant teaching qualifications
