Overview of the team and your role:

Vendor Management champions all aspects of supplier lifecycle and third-party risk management by being a trusted advisor to the business, providing guidance and insights, and collaborating with stakeholders across TAL.

The Vendor & Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for working closely with business stakeholders and shared services (e.g. Legal, Risk and Cyber) to manage supplier agreements and own and assist with regulatory compliance management. The role will also support internal vendor management stakeholders in managing suppliers, implementing variations to current contracts and helping design structured and bespoke governance plans. This will help TAL to achieve exceptional market leading vendor experiences, operational risk management and overall cost reduction and value driven outcomes. The Vendor & Regulatory Compliance Manager champions all aspects of Procurement risk and regulatory management by developing, implementing, maintaining, and reporting on procurement processes that address TAL’s risk and regulatory framework.

The Vendor & Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for managing and implementing risk and compliance initiatives across TAL’s vendor base to ensure regulatory requirements are addressed, monitored and reported on working closely with the Risk Office and Line 1 Risk Managers.

Key Accountabilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining procurement policies and procedures that address TAL’s risk and regulatory framework
  • Monitoring regulatory changes and assessing their impact on procurement operations, ensuring timely, commercially sound and compliant change management actions
  • Developing, delivering and updating process training and instructional documentation to ensure understanding of compliance obligations across the business
  • Managing all procurement reporting (e.g., Procurement Dashboard, Modern Slavery, ERC Reporting, Vendor Governance Compliance Review) and contributing towards the continuous improvement of the Executive Risk Committee reporting
  • Driving a continuous improvement culture in procurement compliance in the business
  • Subject matter expert for all regulatory related aspects relating to vendors

Vendor Management:

  • Support implementation and management of Vendor Governance Framework across TAL
  • Effectively support the business to deal with vendor operational contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, risks and undertaking negotiations with vendors as required
  • Support the business to develop and review regular reports on contract milestones and performance
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate, manage and monitor contracts inclusive of service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Coordinate and support changes to supplier and third-party processes driven by policy, regulatory changes and improvement opportunities
  • Identify and assess supplier risks, working with business stakeholders and shared services to mitigate those risks
  • Identify areas for cost and process improvement
  • Actively work with sourcing to carry out contracting activities that include new vendor sourcing, onboarding, due diligence, vendor management and contract management
  • Ensuring vendor is compliant with relevant third-party regulatory requirements

Stakeholder engagement:

  • Engage with regulatory change and risk managers to ensure procurement process compliance
  • Work effectively with internal departments to promote compliance with procurement processes
  • Assist in developing and establishing procurement best practice for related projects and act as a custodian of the procurement process
  • Supporting ad-hoc request from business stakeholders and shared services (e.g., Risk, Legal) to support business decision making and undertake some projects
  • Educating, developing, and assisting in upskilling internal VM stakeholders on tools, processes, standards / policies and compliance obligations
  • Act as a single point of contact for all procurement advice to internal VM stakeholders
  • Confidently manage stakeholder questions, challenges and objections

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of comparable work experience in operations to include vendor management, procurement and contract negotiations
  • Demonstrated experience managing large scale, enterprise supplier relationships from a contracting, sourcing and ongoing risk management perspective
  • Experience working with multiple vendors and suppliers to negotiate and administer various types of contracts
  • Data analysis/data modelling
  • Business case or feasibility study preparation
  • Financial management and reporting skills
  • Sound understanding of Regulatory requirements and legislation with an awareness of Operational Risk Management
  • Ability to identify and report safety or security concerns/incidents immediately
  • Ability to work within a team as well as autonomously
  • Proficient user in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Experience in PowerBI
  • Excellent attention to detail, customer service, and written and verbal communication
