About this role

This unique opportunity involves a dual role, working three shifts per week as a Team Leader and two shifts per week as a Catering Assistant.  We are seeking someone who can effectively manage the operations of the catering team and also working in the team as a Catering Assistant.  

Other responsibilities include:

  • Supervise Catering Assistants, delegate tasks and manage daily rosters. Manage the day to day preparation of non-cooked food items, meal trays and meal deliveries.
  • Ensure appropriate standards are maintained in relation to the preparation and storage of perishable food products in accordance with HACCP standards.
  • Interacting directly with hospital staff, patients and visitors to serve food and collect food trays and resolve any related issues.
  • Performing Catering Assistant tasks, including general cleaning, dish washing, pot washing, plating and delivery of meals and prepare non-cook food including salads and sandwiches.

Hours
This is a part time role working 66.4 hours per fortnight with set shifts scheduled as follows:

Sundays: 0700-1506 (Catering Assistant)

Monday: 1500-2100 (Team Leader)

Tuesday: 0600-1406 (Team Leader)

Wednesday: 1500-2100 (Team Leader)

Thursday: 0700-1430 (Catering Assistant)

About you
We are looking for candidates with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills who enjoy getting their hands dirty and who thrive in a busy team environment.

You will need to:

- undertake a medical pre-employment screening test prior to offer

- provide evidence of a suitable National Police Check or Working with Children Check

- hold full working rights in Australia, appropriate to this position and hours required

- comply with the strict Immunisation Policy within our Hospital including COVID-19 requirements (imperative for patient and your safety)
