About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Medicine team as a Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Practitioner Candidate, where you will be responsible for:

  • Provide high-level clinical nursing expertise for specified individual patients/clients and/or groups/populations.
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team and across organisational Divisions/sites and promote communication processes to enable best patient/client outcomes
  • Operate within an expanded scope of practice with advanced autonomy and clinical decision-making.
  • Work within the nurse-led See & Treat Service in the Paediatric Emergency Department (PED), providing prompt assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective leadership skills in communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
  • Capability to participate in and facilitate high-quality research.
  • At least 5 years of post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife with advanced practice in Emergency Nursing.
  • Knowledge of the Nurse Practitioner role, relevant legislation, industrial agreements, standards, codes, ethics, and competency standards.
