Integration Engineer

What’s in it for you?
Work for a start-up company where you will contribute to business growth whilst working closely with the hands-on owners.
In this technical role, you will be tasked with working with both internal and external stakeholders to provide seamless integrations between business systems.
What you’ll be doing:
In this back-end focused role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing APIs using Python. You will be tasked with integrating multiple business systems between the business and their clients including finance, ERP, fleet management, and mapping systems.
You will be working in event-driven design for Python in a domain-driven design application, where you will use technologies such as Kafka and RabbitMQ. Working closely with both internal and external developers, you will create seamless integrations between multiple systems.
Experience required:
You will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar engineering role where you worked on client API integrations. You will have solid previous experience in API design and maintenance and have experience with event-driven architecture using RabbitMQ or Kafka.
You will be based in the Newcastle/ Hunter/ Central Coast region and be able to come into the office in Thornton a couple of days a week. Ideally, you will have experience with Python with FastAPI, Django, or Python, but if not, we would still love to hear from you.
About the company:
Our client is a startup born out of Newcastle just over 2 years ago with a unique product offering that will allow them plenty of room to grow both locally and internationally. Their core product helps businesses capture key data and provides tools to help with inventory management, compliance, reporting, and much more.
With a brand new office based in Thornton, they offer hybrid work, where employees are typically in the office three days a week.
