The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of comprehensive experience in end-to-end payroll management, with a deep understanding of Australian payroll systems.
  • Proven expertise in managing monthly payroll processes, including PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, and Workers Compensation calculations and obligations.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process and system improvements, including technology transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with payroll journals, reconciliations, and familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite is advantageous.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead Payroll Operations: Oversee and manage the entire payroll process for a large team, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of payroll specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax laws, wage and hour laws, and benefits administration.
  • Process Improvement: Develop, implement, and optimize payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and review payroll reports, analyze payroll data, and provide insights to senior management.
  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll-related issues, discrepancies, and employee inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Audit & Control: Conduct regular audits of payroll processes and controls to maintain accuracy and compliance.
