We are looking for a web savvy copywriting journalist with strong SEO skills to join this busy, thriving agency located in Elizabeth Bay, Sydney. This role is working onsite 5 days a week. They publish across travel and a number of other areas and have a new website and a guide for tourists – you will need to have a broad knowledge of entertainment, food, and Sydney life.

This is an initial immediate start freelance job with a view to going permanent in early 2025.

You will be a keen journalist with 1-2 years of on-the-job experience and looking for an opening that includes training and variety. Key to this role is the ability to work with SEO and specifically using Rank Math or other search engines-you have proven experience working with Search tools and understand how to integrate findings and enhancements.

You have a portfolio of published work in digital and print. You know your way around Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Social posts are a big part of what this job entails.

Our client is looking for a content producer who can grow their social media and video audiences. Your video editing and podcasting skills will be highly prized. They already have a series of podcasts and are keen to continue producing more.

You will be confident working with WordPress websites, being able to create pages, load content and ensure the layout looks great. Photoshop and InDesign abilities would also be a bonus.

As our client also produces luxury magazines, you will have experience writing for print.

Most of all, you must love stories – you can write them well and be ahead of the pack.

This is a hands-on team with great projects on the go. This position is available immediately at the start of next year.

What you will be doing:

  • Writing stories for web, newsletters and social, as well as print magazines
  • Creating attention-grabbing social posts and videos
  • Researching and getting interviews
  • Finding your own stories and suggesting creative ways to engage an audience with them
  • Helping the busy content editor and publisher with video shoots and podcasts
